Praise God!!! It is the time of the Feast of Trumpets and God’s appointed, Fall Holy Days (Leviticus 23).
Tonight Walker Ministries will be observing Yom Teruah by blowing the Shofar.
You might ask what is Yom Teruah or The Feast of Trumpets???
The Feast of Trumpets is called in Hebrew, Yom T’rooah, and takes place this year on October 2nd, at sunset and goes through October 4th.
This feast is also known as Rosh Hashanah and is celebrated as the Jewish New Year. We read about this feast in Leviticus 23:24 – “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, in the seventh month, on the first of the month (Tishri), you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of (shofars) trumpets.” But what does the shofar help us to remember?
In the Holy Scriptures, there are two passages that speak of the LORD, Himself, blowing the shofar. The first passage is found In Exodus 19 where the children of Israel go up to Mount Sinai to meet the LORD. As they did so, the sound of a shofar from heaven grew louder and louder so that the people who stood at the base of Mt. Sinai began to tremble. Then, God spoke, and more than a million Israelites heard the audible voice of God at the same time.
The second place in Scripture, where the LORD, Himself, blows the shofar, is found in First Thessalonians 4:16-17 – “For the LORD Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice from an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the LORD in the air…”
The Feast of Trumpets and the sounding of the Shofar is a wake-up call for all of us to be ready, for Messiah Jesus is coming quickly!!!
